A type of green tea popular in Japan, Genmaicha Tea is an infusion made of a blend of bancha green tea and roasted brown rice. Known for its nutty and aromatic fragrance, this tea is low in caffeine, making it ideal to drink throughout the day.

What Does Genmaicha Tea Taste Like?

A blend of green tea's vegetal taste with the warm, nutty roasted rice flavour. Reminiscent of morning cereal, the fragrance complements the astringency of green tea.

How to Brew Genmaicha Tea

Steep about 5g tea leaves in 80-85°C (barely started to simmer) water for 3 minutes.

Take note!: If you steep Genmaicha for too long, the balance between the grassy taste of the tea leaves and the nutty taste of the roasted rice could be lost. It could also make the drink taste more bitter.

Standard shipping takes 3-4 working days for Singapore addresses. Free standard shipping on all orders over $60.

About Shinrinyoku

We believe in the healing powers of nature. And we wish to convey this through our teas.

behind the name

Shinrinyoku is a combination of two Japanese words: shinrin (forest) and yoku (bathe).

Finding calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply, you let go of stress and boost your well-being in a natural way.

Why Tea?

We believe that it’s important to take a few minutes each day to settle your mind and find your centre. What better way to do it than with a cup of quality artisanal tea.
